How Manual Marketplace works
A quick explanation of the pieces, in plain language — plus how field technicians actually end up using this on the job.
If you run a trade company
The industry standard for every task.
1. Subscribe to individual guides
Browse the marketplace for guides made by field experts and other companies (e.g. "Diagnosing a Tripped High-Pressure Switch on an R-410A Rooftop Unit"). Each guide is sold on its own, in blocks of 5 seats per month — pick exactly the guides you want and how many technicians need access.
2. Add your technicians once, under Team
From your company dashboard, go to Team and invite each field technician with their email and a temporary password. This is a one-time setup per person — you don't re-invite them for every guide or group.
3. Build your own groups
Create a group for each type of job — "Residential Electrical Work," "Rooftop HVAC Units," whatever matches how your crews are organized. Add any guides you own or are subscribed to into that group, mixing and matching across different sellers if you want.
4. Assign technicians to groups
Add the relevant technicians from your Team to each group. A technician only sees the guides in the groups they've been added to — so your electricians aren't wading through HVAC content.
5. Upload your own guides (optional)
Company accounts can upload video guides too — your own house standards, safety walkthroughs, whatever you want your crews using. They're automatically available in your own groups with no subscription needed. List them on the marketplace if you want other companies to be able to subscribe, and get paid the same way an expert would.
6. Technicians use it in the field
Technicians log in from any phone or tablet browser with the email/password you gave them — there's nothing to install. Worth having them add the site to their phone's home screen for one-tap access on a job site.
If you're an expert
You set the standard.
1. Upload a guide
Record and upload a step-by-step video guide for the work you know best.
2. Price it and list it
Set a trade, tags, and a price per 5-seat block, per month — capped so pricing stays practical across the marketplace — then switch on listing so companies can find and subscribe to it.
3. Connect payouts and get discovered
Set up payouts once through Stripe. Companies find and subscribe to your guide from the marketplace, and you're paid automatically every month, minus the platform's cut.
4. Keep it current to keep winning
Companies can switch to a better guide at any time — so the best, most up-to-date content wins and keeps its subscribers.
